When I was six, I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. But then I grew up and didn’t know any artists and didn’t understand it was something you could really spend your life doing.

I discovered I could make a career as an artist while on a bike tour through the PNW at the end of 2013 with my husband. We stopped in a small town to visit friends and while browsing a darling gift shop, my friend introduced me as calligrapher (I wanted to be but definitely wasn’t yet!). The owner of a winery had JUST stopped in the gift shop looking for one. Long story short, that night I made $200 and a bottle of wine and I was hooked! My husband and I moved to Bend, OR shortly after and took whatever jobs we could find to stay.

In addition to some other random jobs, I started creating pieces of modern handlettering for weddings, coffee shops, and anyone who asked. I taught calligraphy classes, addressed thousands of invitations, and set up giant seating charts at weddings for nine years. Then, somewhere between child one and two, I found surface pattern design and discovered something that tied everything that I love together. I take inspiration from the beautiful world around me and turn it into patterns that remind me of those places and people!

I spend most of my time with my family - growing our garden (I’ll be a flower farmer in my next life), looking for vintage treasures, and seeking adventures in the mountains. I love a beautifully set table and a windy jeep ride. My friends and I like to ride our mountain bikes and bring our watercolors and snacks. Some of my favorite work has come from watercolors I made on camping or biking trips!

My style is handmade, floral-inspired, and a bit whimsical + nostalgic. Most of all, I’m just so thrilled to get to spend my life creating pieces that bring joy and connecting with others who want to create some magic of their own. I hope what I create can bring a little hope and light to your world.

My art is available for licensing! I can also help you order your own custom fabrics and products. Thank you for supporting artists and art!
