Every summer we load up the canoe with coolers and snacks, camping gear, kids, and the dog. We canoe across the lake to find a place to camp for the night. The trees grow high on the shore, but there’s enough space for our tent. During the day weexplore the shore, canoe through coves looking for beavers and fish, and pick wild berries when they're available.
I recently found a picture of my grandparents in front of their canoe - headed out for an adventure. It’s black and white, and around 1948.
There are no fireflies here in the PNW, but I remember them from my childhood explorations in Texas, and I imagine they were part of my grandparents' experiences on the lake.
I hope you feel like you're transported to the lake with this collection. Adventures all around.
